HELIX FIELD-COUPLED POWER MODULE

Tesla’s electromagnetic line, drawn for the Helix airframe. The classical ether is not an energy source. This module does not extract propulsion power from it. Endurance is extended by real gradients — sunlight, humidity, a coded power beam — and by keeping the chemical pack for dropout only.

1. Ruling

Tesla used “ether” for the seat of electromagnetic action. That role is now the electromagnetic field on spacetime. The mechanical luminiferous ether did not survive the null interferometer results or special relativity. There is nothing there to mine.

The quantum vacuum has a zero-point spectrum. A Casimir force is a shift of boundary conditions, not a fuel tank. An equilibrium vacuum has no gradient. A closed cycle that tries to pull net work out of it has nowhere for the entropy to go. That design is rejected before a line is drawn.

Tesla’s radiant-energy patents (US 685,957 and 685,958) charge an insulated plate from ions and ionizing radiation. His transmission patent (US 1,119,732) moves energy from a transmitter to a receiver. Both obey conservation. Only the second one can feed a propulsion bus, and only because a ground or airborne plant is the source.

2. Energy budget

Planning point for a ≤5 kg Helix-class wing already specified at 12–20 h loiter: average propulsion near 25 W, about 400–500 Wh aboard if the pack is the only source. Figures below are design targets, not flight-test data.

SourcePhysicsPower on this airframeBus
Fair-weather atmospheric fieldE ≈ 100 V/m, J ≈ 2 pA/m², P = E·J ≈ 0.2 nW/m²~0.1 nW on a 0.5 m² wing. 10⁸ short of cruise.Sense only
Radiant-energy plateIon and UV charging of an insulated electrodeNanoamps to microamps. Not a motor current.Sense only
AeroHydroCell™ v2.0Humidity gradient in the wing skin. Already on the blueprint.160–460 mW. 15–38% endurance gain on the pack.Avionics aux
Thin-film photovoltaicSolar. Upper skin, not a separate ether device.Design target 8–20 W in clear sun on the planform.Aux + trickle
Coded microwave or laser beamTransmitter on the ground, Catapult, or a relay aircraft.Design target ≥30 W DC at the propulsion bus while locked.Propulsion
Chemical packOnboard storage. Launch, climb, beam dropout, terminal.25 W cruise for the chemical-only case.Propulsion

Flight time stops being set by watt-hours only while a beam is locked and the thermal limit holds. That is a step change versus the pack. It is not energy from empty space.

3. Assembly — three stages, one module

Stage A — probe

A small elevated electrode and a shutter field mill, read by a guarded electrometer. Maps the fair-weather field and flags thunderstorm charge so the airframe can leave the cell. Same family of measurement as a Tesla elevated terminal. It is an instrument. Wiring it to an ESC is a rejected drawing.

Stage B — aux

AeroHydroCell skin stays the structural harvester. Add thin-film cells on the upper mold line and a low-gain rectenna tuned only to a friendly beacon. Diode-ORed onto a 12 V aux rail with an ideal-diode controller. Budget: keep the SNN and mesh alive longer. Do not parallel this rail into the motor bus.

Stage C — bus

Propulsion energy is the pack plus a coded beam. Rectenna or laser PV is a separate aperture with its own MPPT, current limit, and isolation barrier. The beam enables only after a cryptographic handshake and a geometric interlock. Loss of lock drops the aircraft back to the pack inside one control cycle.

4. Build order

  1. Gate 0 — kill the ether claim with a measurement. Mast electrode, calibrated field mill, logged current into a known resistor. Pass only if harvested power is within an order of magnitude of E·J·A. Expected result: nanowatts. A result large enough to cruise is an instrument error until it survives a Faraday cage and a dark, grounded rerun.
  2. Gate 1 — aux rail on a bench wing. AeroHydroCell plus coupon PV. Record watt-hours over a day. No motor attached.
  3. Gate 2 — rectenna coupon in a licensed range. Published power-beaming bands only, low power, anechoic or controlled bay. Measure DC watts per incident RF watt. No free-space high-power trial off the range.
  4. Gate 3 — tethered airframe. Beam on, pack in failover. Kill the handshake on purpose. Motors must follow the pack without a transient that browns out the flight computer.
  5. Gate 4 — geo-fenced free flight. Beam only inside the fence, only while the code matches, only under the exposure and eye-safety limit that applies outside the receiver. Endurance is reported as time-on-beam plus pack reserve, never as ether runtime.

5. What this drawing refuses

  • No over-unity stage. Input watts are counted at the transmitter, the sun, or the pack.
  • No reactionless thruster. Propulsion remains a propeller and motor.
  • No claim that Helix is fielded with this module. Gates 0–4 have not been run.
  • No high-power transmitter design on this page. Beam hardware stays on a licensed range, with the interlock above.
